First US edition hardcover in red cloth boards with lightly sunned head of spine (gilt title still legible), that matches the chip in the dust wrapper. Tips and spine ends lightly bumped. Age-toned beige jacket illustrated in b/w show a line drawing by Lionel Edwards. Also shows a sizable chip at upper fore-edge of frt board, loss at head of spine taking the entire title and most of the author's name with it, plus several smaller chips at flap folds and periphery (see image or ask for one). Inside is fine save for lightly age-toned end papers. Not ex-library, no names, tears or soil in the 122 pp text. 12 full page b/w plates by Lionel Edwards, a further18 from plans and photographs. Author was Ex-Master of the Bicester and Wardon Hill Hounds. Chapter headings in this volume are: 1. The Sense of Smell, 2. Tracking by Smell, 3.
