The little tree struggled for sunlight and rain in the forest because the other older straight trees were ashamed of it and tried to block out it's sun and rain to kill it off. One day a bird's egg falls on the tree and breaks, the tree asks the bird why this happened and it says the branches of the tall trees are so weak. Crooked tree offers the bird it's strong branches to build her nest in, which she accepts. Other birds follow suit and the tree is finally accepted by the older, not wiser, trees and now calls the crooked tree: The Home Tree.
