First edition glossy paperback with a burgundy/brown background and gold titles showing a person piloting their mount over a decent width oxer at a horse show. A super rare and much sought volume that shows moderate surface wear, color loss at extremities, some light creases and a hint of sunning along head of frt cover from storage. 231 pg glued in text is crisp, unmarked and holding fine. This is volume 2 of a three volume set that covers Hunters/Three Day Eventers/ Steeplechasers. The purpose of this book being to assemble and record the pedigrees and bloodlines of the most prominent and successful horses over fences in North America. Selection of the horses appearing herein has not been influenced by the pedigree and bloodlines of the individual horses. Although the majority of these horses are Thoroughbreds, no selection from any single breed has been attempted, individuals from any traceable breed being included. The only criterion for selection is the success of the horses over fences. This has been determined by show ring records, the American Horse Shows Year-end Awards in all Hunter and Jumper divisions, Grand Prix records, International and Olympic team selections, as well as successes in Combined Events, and Steeplechasing.
