Not Such A Bad Summer A Story Of Dartmoor

By: MacGregor-Morris, Pamela

Price: $450.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Very Good

First edition hardcover in light red cloth covered boards with a deep dark title on the lightly sunned backstrip cloth. Spine ends bumped, tips still sharp, book is straight and square. Not exlib, no weird smells, small ink name at head of blank fep. It looks like an ash fell at the very uppermost part of the head of the page margin on 6 pages plus light finger soil on two other pages that obscures nothing. Remainder of the 152 pp text is flawless. No idea who drew the color front panel illustration on the jacket or the b/w line drawing frontispiece but they are both lovely. Colorful, original dust wrapper in new mylar shows small chips at tips and head of spine, but the foot of the spine is gone 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. Solid cream color rear panel is complete, age-toned and lightly foxed and offers more stories for girls and boys by other authors. Holidays at a farm on wild, lovely Dartmoor, ponies to ride, a jolly gypsy boy for a friend, and a wonderful filly named Hydromeda, daughter of a noble racing sire . . . Mystery and adventure in tracking down and setting free an escaped convict from the hands of worse criminals than he, a visit to the police station to receive their reward for the capture . . . These, and other stirring adventures, made for Roger, Helen and tubby Tom not such a bad summer, after all!
