1st printing hardcover in taupe colored, cloth covered boards with rich black spine and cover titles. Soiled offering with bumped and rubbed head and foot of frt board, less so on rear board and backstrip. Shelf wear at foot of frt board from frt gutter to center of frt board foot. Board tips and spine ends bumped. Two horseheads drawn on cover (as published). No names, tears or soil in the 210 pp text. Mapped front end papers show the route of the trekk. 23 stories told in first 'horse' person (as if the horses are telling the tales), about the longest journey ever made by horses, from Argentina to Washington D.C.. Book includes un-clipped original color illustrated dust wrapper which has a .25" x 1.75" chip at foot of backstrip, 7 short chips and one 1.25" closed tear at head of frt panel and spine and head of spine. Small chips at four tips, color loss along dj flap folds as well as where dj panels meet the backstrip bit. Cream colored background of rear panel and back strip are grubby, DJ is tatty but sounds worse than it looks.. Book is super rare in any dust wrapper by this publisher. Color loss at tips of cream background paper illustrated with two horseheads, one brown named "Gato", one a brown and white pinto named Mancha.
