Gift quality first edition hardcover in brown 'tweedy' cloth covered boards with sharp tips and spine ends. 196 pp text is crisp and unmarked save for non-inked former owner's embossed seal on title page. Unclipped, unpriced original dust jacket has a .75" x .50" chip at head of spine not affecting the title letters there, and a micro chip at upper tip fore-edge. The author moved to Japan in 1948 with her husband and has been associated with equestrian activities in Japan for the sixteen years that she has been there. At the Tokyo International Sports Week in October, 1963, the Kenrick Trophy was presented for international team competition. It was won by New Zealand and is held in that country for further competition. She has served as special correspondent for equestrian events for Reuters News Agency and is currently a columnist for The Japan Times. Herself a show-jumper, in telling the story of "Horses in Japan" she writes of what she knows and loves.
