Attractive hardcover in brown cloth covered boards with gilt title spine. Spine ends bumped, tips still sharp. Tidy ink name on fep, rest of 160 pp text is crisp and unmarked. Unclipped yellow background illustrated dust wrapper is soiled and has a black ink splash dot below pasted-on dj art and has a few short chips at spine ends. Written and illustrated by Mary Colville at the tender age of 13 when she had never had a drawing lesson in her young life. Told in 'first pony' person, as if Blaese the pony were telling it. She tells about the days when she was a foal on an island in the Shetlands; about the herd they belonged to and all the other ponies in it; about how they were rounded up and broken in; about the different homes she found, and the children who rode her. All the things about ponies in this book are true - even the story of the pony that walks into the house to do lessons.
