Gift quality 1st edition (so stated) hardcover in tan cloth covered boards showing bumped (not rubbed) spine ends, light color loss at lightly bumped tips and on rear board periphery. Not exlib. 131 pp text is crisp and unmarked, no names, tears or soil but there is some foxing on frt and rear endpps. Un-clipped deep orange background photo illustrated dust wrapper with two short closed tears at head of frt and rear panel, color loss at spine ends and a shallow crease along upper edge of frt cover. DJ is a professional reproduction that is now in new mylar, displays well and has kept this book in fine form. Frontispiece and b/w photographs throughout. Biography of the grey plow horse purchased at auction for $80 after being rescued off the back of a farm truck on it's way to the meat packing plant one snowy afternoon by Harry De Leyer and who was turned into a world-famous show jumper in 1956. Earning his name from his all-white coat, Snowman won Champion at the 1958 National Horse Show and the National Horse Stakes in 1959 and was inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame in 1992.
