A work of fiction which resembles a true murder, occurred in Maine, USA that is still considered unsolved by many. In this Gothic tale played out in a small New England town, the tenderness of young love, the revelation and aftermath of an unnatural lust, and the brutal reality of violent death result in a trial that reveals the wellsprings of evil that may contaminate even the most peaceful village, the (nicest) people. This novel is based on one of the strangest, most shocking American murder cases.
