Divided into 3 sections: A fiction story, "Little Lamb" - The Inside Story - Where to see Horses and Ponies. Mary Jones is given a three-year-old Welsh mountain pony for Christmas-cum-birthday. She calls him Little Devil because he is so wild. After several weeks of careful training she makes friends with Little Devil and in the end, he is so well behaved that she renames him Little Lamb. This book is about horses and ponies. It explains how they are bred and trained. It also describes the places where they were once kept and where many different kinds of horses and ponies can still be seen. Many of the places are in the care of the National Trust.
