No dj. 32 pp text tight and bright. Told in rhyme is the story of Sir Ribbeck and his pear tree. He generously offers his pears to all. Knowing his heir is not as generous, he requests a pear to be buried beside him. While the heir fences off the pear tree so as not to share its fruit, a new tree grows at Ribbeck's graveside. Wonderful woodcuts by Nonny Hogrogian decorate this timeless tale based on a 19th century poem.
