After Jim's death in 1956, she and her daughter continued hiw work with the Auca Indians, working on the reduction of Auca language with a view to Bible translation. She was visiting professor at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary from 1974-1976 and again in 1979. She married Addison H. Leitch, a professor at Gordon-Conwell Seminary, who dies in 1973.
