Stunning copy in navy cloth covered boards w/full color illustrated plate by Maxfield Parrish on frt board. 1944 date at foot of title page, 1909 on copyright page. Tips sharp showing very faint color loss, spine ends lightly bumped (not rubbed). Illustrated endpapers, text as new 339 untrimmed pgs w/12 full color plates by Maxfield Parrish. Last page of text carelessly opened, with small chip at outer edge of margin, no text affected. Very rare original, unclipped (1.75c price intact) color illustrated ecru background dust wrapper shows loss at spine ends and along panel edges but no loss of title or publisher on backstrip and displays very well in new mylar.
