VG 1st ED/HB/DJ NY Thomas Nelson & Sons Ltd. 1944 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good Very Good Hogner, Nils Tight bright copy in blue cloth boards with bright gilt illustration and titles on frt board. Lower fore edge of both boards faded, bit of discoloration on pastedns and endpps in same area, text unaffected. Tips and spine ends sharp. NOT exlib. Tiny, obscure vintage bookstore sticker on foot of fep. 114 pg well illustrated text is crisp and unmarked. Unclipped professionally reproduced dj in new mylar somewhat tatty along top edge w/small closed tears and few small chips, still displays well. This is the story of the American Horse. Beginning with the Mustang, the narrative progresses to our own day (1944) and the part the horse is playing in the American war effort.
