London Country Life Ltd. 1938 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good Good Tulloch, Maurice 
Grey cloth with red titles bumped at extrems, moderate soil and rubbing. 112 pp tight and bright. Blk small remainder mark on foot of pg block, small red marker line on blank rep. Vint bookstore sticker on rear pastdn. Unclipped facimile color dj shows heavy foxing and 1/2 in chip at head of spine, displays well in new mylar. 12 full pg b/w plates by Maurice Tulloch. The author, Hunting correspondent of the Daily Telegraph and Morning Post, writes for the benefit of seekers of fox-hunting knowledge. The phraseology of fox-hunting is strange and more complicated than any other sport; and in addition; to purely technical terms, ancient expressions which have passed from every-day use are recorded together with the procedure and general happenings in fox-hunting.

Green cloth boards sunned along spine edge and on rear quarters, corners bumped, tips lightly rubbed. Internally fine save for pencil name on fep. 98 pgs of crisp, heavy stock. Oversized tome in rare professionally reproduced dj with a lovely color plate on the frt panel. showing The Capture of Tom Crane. Two triangular chips, one at frt fold, one at foot of frt fore edge and loss at head of spine taking the word Sport with it, still displays well in new mylar. The British entertained themselves during the Crimean War & The Great War with everything from Pig Sticking & Polo to hunting hares on horseback with a sword.
