Here is an assessment of the man whose influence on riding was so strong that it affected everything from backyard riding to international competition. de Nemethy talks to Rodenas about his views on many subjects: the USET as it was and is now, the Pan American Games and the Olympics, the jumping teams of other nations, the role of dressage in show jumping, schooling horses (the importance of lungeing and cavaletti,) and course designing.
