NY Random House 1953 Twelfth Printing Hardcover Near Fine Very Good Book 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Eldridge, Harold 
Gorgeous 12th printing hardcover in red cloth with sharp tips and bumped spine ends. No names, tears or soil within but faint soil at lower fore edge of page block. 305 p with light age toning on endpps. Price clipped dj in new mylar is a professional reproduction that displays well despite some small chips at extrems. The tall stallion broke out of his paddock, hurled forth his screaming challenge, and attacked Satan, in an adjoining paddock. Only Henry Dailey's alertness and Alec Ramsay's loving domination of the Black saved Satan from a savage death that night. Later the old trainer told Alec, "His attack on Satan took a lot of time and planning. It was the methodical, premeditated scheme of a murderer. Get smart before he kiss all of us!"

Adam Cromarty has been given the new colt Haki, whose mother is the mare on his father's Shetland croft. Adam devotes much care to Haki's Training and a strong sympathy grows up between them. But Adam is leaving school and must go away to earn his living. His father tells him that he must sell Haki at the pony sales and show in Lerwick. Adam and Haki win first prize in the colts' class at the show and a Mr. Wiggins who turns out to be a circus owner offers a good price for Haki. Adam will only sell if the buyer will take him also to work in the circus. Haki is a great success, learning many tricks and becoming a favorite with the audiences. Adam finds friends among the circus people but he also makes one bitter enemy. Willie Baxter, who has charge of the performing Chimpanzees and who is jealous of Adam's success. Willie tries to injure Haki, but Adam's watchfullness, together with Haki's remarkable freindship with the circus elephant, Sonda, frustrate his plans and bring the story to a happy conclusion.

This is a horse Indian Two Feet can catch and tame, making boy and horse better for the effort.
